Awards

 

THE ORDER OF THE SOUTHERN CROSS (S.C.O.)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is the highest award for service to the Guild.  The number of awards given annually will be at the discretion of the Australian Executive.  It is restricted (up to a maximum of ten (10) per year), with no state receiving more than two (2) in any one year.

 

The award categories/conditions are:

 

(a)       Long and devoted good services – minimum of FIFTEEN (15) years.

(b)       In recognition of especially good services, meritorious duty, self-initiative of an exemplary nature benefitting the Guild at local, state or national levels – minimum of TEN (10) years.

(c)        For notable and distinguished achievement/good services of an exceptional nature, advancing the stature of the Baden-Powell Guild of Australia at state and national levels – minimum of FIVE (5) years.

(d)       Special considerations as listed in Clause 1.

 

The award shall consist of:

 

(a)       A gold coloured medal on a neck ribbon of blue with a centred white stripe.

(b)       A gold coloured metal badge for everyday dress/uniform.

(c)        A presentation certificate.

 

THE BADEN-POWELL STAR (Bp.S)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is the secondary award for good services to the Guild.  The number of awards given annually will be at the discretion of the Australian Executive.  It is restricted (up to a maximum of TWENTY (20) per year), with no state receiving more than three (3) in any one year.

 

The award categories/conditions are:

 

(a)       Long and devoted good services – minimum of EIGHT (8) years.

(b)       In recognition of exceptional individual effort and/or achievement at local, state or national level requiring special devotion to duty and/or display of initiative – minimum of FIVE (5) years.

(c)        Special considerations as listed in Clause 1.

 

 

The award shall consist of:

 

(a)       A silver coloured medallion attached to a blue ribbon with a centred white stripe on a bar.

(b)       A silver coloured metal badge for everyday dress/uniform.

(c)        A presentation certificate.
